ARTICLE I
The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding is to develop and carry out
collaborative activities in furtherance of the common interest of the institutions set
forth in ARTICLE II.
ARTICLE II
The scope of collaboration on academic and research activities included in this
Memorandum of Understanding includes the following categories :
1. Training programs, including degree and non-degree programs.
2. Research collaboration in the areas of mutual interest to both parties.
3. Exchange of academic materials which are made available by both parties.
4. Exchange of scholars in the course of academic development to address problems
of academic progress.
5. Sponsor cooperative seminars, workshops and other academic meetings on matters of
mutual interest.
ARTICLE III
To implement the aims and purposes expressed in ARTICLE I and II, the following is
mutually understood and agreed :
1. Proposals for collaborative work under this Memorandum will be submitted through
the nominees of Art Faculty at Monash University, Victoria and Indian Institute of
Ecology and Environment, New Delhi.
2. Each party will nominate one of its members as its representative in charge of the
cooperative program. Individual program of work under this Memorandum will be jointly
planned and conducted by the nominees of both parties.
3. Progress of work of the individual program will be reviewed and approved by
designated project officers of both parties.
4. The final approval of any project will be dependent upon the availability of
guaranteed support funds.
5. Neither Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment nor Monash University will
be held responsible for any liability whatsoever, furthermore, neither party shall be
required to purchase any insurance against loss of damage to any personal property to
which this agreement relates.
ARTICLE IV
1. This Memorandum of Understanding is effective as of the date of execution by the
appropriate officer of each signatory institution.
2. This Memorandum of Understanding may be amended at any time by mutual consent and
shall continue in force and effect for five years and can be extended by mutual consent
of both parties.
