Dear Sir,

I have the honour to state the Academic Council (Vidya Parishad) in its meeting held on 23.3.93 has resolved to work in close liaison and to collaborate with the Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment in matters relating to strengthening the research base and to registering the Post Graduates students of IIEE for Ph.D programme of Jain Vishva Bharati Institute.

In accordance with above, I am forwarding herewith the Memorandum of understanding in duplicate duly signed by Dr. Ramjee Singh, Vice-Chancellor of this Institute on the on hand and the Chairman of Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment on the other in token of agreement concluded between Jain Vishva Bharati Institute and Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment this day the 25th March 1993. One copy of the said memorandum of understanding duly signed may kindly be returned to this office for record.

This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment, New Delhi and Jain Vishwa Bharati Institute, Ladnun, Rajasthan (India) for mutual cooperation witnesseth in the following lines :

1.	Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment, New Delhi has the appropriate technology for the transfer of knowledge in the areas of ecology and environment in general and environmental engineering, impact assessment, pollution monitoring and control, systems analysis, wildlife conservation, environmental education and environmental laws in particular. Hence the role of IIEE through this MoU will be:

a)	to present all the occasional monographs free of charge.

b)	to present all the research reports whenever needed.

c)	to help prepare and Graduate, Master's and Doctoral courses on environment and related subjects.

d)	to guide in preparation of project proposals to be funded by different International Bodies.

e)	to have programmes, seminars, workshops etc. jointly organised for protecting our environment at any mutually decided locations.

f)	to allow the alumnis of the collaborating organisation  to pursue the study and research programmes. That way the students and researchers of both Institutions will be able to exchange ideas by visiting the campuses at Delhi and Ladnun.

2.	Jain Vishwa Bharati Institute, (Deemed University), Ladnun will agree with this 		MoU and in return cooperate with IIEE in the following ways :

a)	to present the publication, information and knowledge for mutual exchange of ideas in the areas of ecology and environment for its use by the students, faculty and others.

b)	to help IIEE in the curriculum design or in updating the existing curriculum in the emerging fields.

c)	to treat the Post Graduate Course in Ecology & Environment of IIEE at par with Master's Programme of Jain Vishwa Bharati Institute, Ladnun, Rajasthan.

d)	to allow and register the Post Graduates of IIEE for pursuing Doctoral programmes (D.Litt/Ph.D.) with supervisors and guides from both bodies having the residency requirements to be mutually decided. This will help the alumnis of IIEE to conduct and continue research for the protection of environment in the neighbouring areas.

In testimony whereof, the parties to this MoU have hereinto set and subscribed their hands for the continuance of the ( MoU).
