This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Indian Institute of
Ecology and Environment, New Delhi and Hindustan Shipyard Limited,
Visakhapatnam for mutual cooperation witnesseth in the following lines:
1. Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment, New Delhi has the
appropriate technology for the transfer of knowledge in the areas of ecology
and environment in general and environmental engineering, impact assessment,
pollution monitoring and control, systems analysis, wildlife conservation,
environmental education and environmental laws in particular. Hence the role
of IIEE through this MoU will be:
a) to present all the occasional monographs free of charge.
b) to present all the research reports whenever needed.
c) to help implement environment friendly programmes like greening
activities, control of air, water and noise pollution and impact
assessment.
d) to guide in preparation of project proposals to be funded by
different International Bodies.
e) to have programmes, seminars, workshops etc. jointly organised for
protecting our our environment at any mutually decided locations.
f) to help the officers of HSL in completing Master's Programme in
Ecology & Environment and to further acquire Doctoral degree in
related fields.
2. Hindustan Shipyard Limited, Visakhapatnam will agree with this MoU
and in return cooperate with IIEE in the following ways :
a) to present the publication, information and knowledge for mutual
exchange of ideas in the areas of ecology and environment for its
use by the students, faculty and others.
b) to help IIEE in the curriculum design or in updating the existing
curriculum in the emerging fields for the utilisation of trained
alumnis in the field of depolluting technologies.
c) to give preference to the alumnis of the Institute after successful
completion of their post graduation/other programmes for selection/
appointment/promotion in the areas of ecology and environment as
per rules of the Shipyard and subject to their suitability.
d) to sponsor environment friendly publications relating to ecology
and environment.
e) to benefit from the Post Graduate level distance learning programme
in ecology and environment by nominating policy makers, senior
officials and technical personnel.
f) to implement the environment friendly projects with the help of
local administration, industrialists, students and the faculty on
the guidelines suggested by IIEE. This will help in having a
thicker relationship with the State/Central Government as well as
the Industrialists for having a better industry-academics
interaction for the vocationalisation of environmental careers.
In testimony whereof, the parties to this MoU have hereinto set and
subscribed their hands for the continuance of the ( MoU).
